May 10, 2020: Ambitious Pandemic Ideas -

Out in the alley a week or so ago, giving the dog his mandatory 7 am relief, we heard a woman making loud, drunken noises in her fenced back yard. Four or five houses away, a big rental with a rotating cast. The noises were mostly unintelligible, and a bit worrisome that early in the morning, except that time has no meaning any more. What is morning, really?

We were nearly out of earshot when I clearly heard her say, “Hey, we should start a BAND. You guys wanna start a BAND?”

So it’s been incredibly lovely weather lately, 86 yesterday, warm nights, everybody’s windows open, people sitting out on their back patios, no traffic, and no wind. Last night, the roommates from that house were out back, singing until all hours. They should definitely not start a band.
